OVERVIEW

How did I get to the leather industry?

I was working at a local factory when I saw the job advertisement in the newspaper. It was offered by an employment agency. I called the number, and we agreed on a date for the interview. The recruitment process consisted of 3 parts: color test, placing cutting dyes on finished hides and defect detection. After a short personal discussion we were driven around in the plant, so we had some insight into the processes. I liked it a lot, so I started work shortly after.

What type of work I do?

I performed very well on the color test (0 failures), and I was also good at recognizing and detecting hide defects, so we agreed that the quality controller position fitted me perfectly. I love my job, and I like to work in a team. The work is not tiring although sometimes my back hurts!

What kind of education do you have?

My profession is seamstress, and I have experience in sewing leather, so I had some idea about leather. I had to learn a lot, but I gained most of my current knowledge from experience on the shop floor.

Why do you like to work here?

Compared to my previous workplaces, it is a clean and pleasant work environment. It is located very close to my home (30 minutes). I think my salary is pretty good, and I feel my work is appreciated. I can support my family. January will mark my 2nd anniversary with the company and I do not intend to look for another job. The social benefits at the company are also getting better and better every year.
