Antiba S.p.a. was established in 1987; its operational headquarters are in Via Toscana, 11, Santa Croce Sull’Arno, Pisa. The core business of the company is the planning, production and sale of chrome and vegetable tanned cow, sheep and goat hides to make footwear and leather goods. An SME aimed at the high-end market for fashion items.
Antiba started out as a family enterprise set up by Mario Balducci, one of the founders of the ARNO group, in the early 1950s. Having inherited their father’s instinct for innovation, his sons Graziano and Paolo continued the tanning tradition and set up Antiba in 1987.
A totally Italian capacity for taking the cherished values of century-old history and tradition and steering them in a totally new direction towards the future, combining innovation with tradition in a seamless blend of the past and the present that is both ingenious and creative. The highly innovative and progressive thinking of the Balducci family soon led to rapid increase in activity on the national and international markets, and a new phase of continuous and sustained development began in 1987.
The first major step was taken in 1998 with the opening of the Prime tannery in India, at Ranipet (Madras), to purchase raw materials and thus establish control over the entire production process. Since 2002 Prime has been given its own production capacity to supply the oriental market. All skins for leather goods are thus sent untreated to Europe, and the rest are prepared for Asian markets.
That same year, a branch was also opened in China with 10 employees, to support companies in the Antiba group.Vision: To be recognised as one of the most professional and reliable tanneries in the world. The competitive national and international context is now a worldwide arena, and as a company we must devote all our efforts to providing what our customers demand in terms of products and services, with a streamlined, flexible structure.
