Today, we bid farewell to a legendary figure in the Italian tanning industry, Enrico Juliani, who passed away at the age of 96 on November 17, 2023.

A visionary in his field, Juliani was the driving force behind Albatros Tannery, renowned for pioneering double-face sheepskin and innovative transparent leather.

His journey began with the Juliani tannery, a family legacy dating back to 1927, with its culmination in 2002 when Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, then President of Italy, officially visited his company. As President of Confindustria Avellino and UNIC – Italian Tanneries, Juliani was a beacon of wisdom and optimism. Enrico Juliani was not just a businessman but a forerunner who placed ethics and craftsmanship at the heart of the industry. His dedication earned him the prestigious Cavaliere del Lavoro honour in 2003.

As we remember his remarkable contributions, we are reminded of his role as a guiding light in the tanning sector, transforming the craft from artisanal to industrial while preserving its core values.

His legacy will continue to inspire and shape the future of tanning. Rest in peace, Enrico Juliani. Your impact on our industry will never be forgotten.
