Richard Hoffmans GmbH & Co. KG, founded in 1899, is a privately run company in family ownership for the fifth generation, and specialises in the finishing of cowhide leather.


With approximately 90 employees, the daily production capacity is approximately 4,000 m2 / day, or about 1,000 cowhides and calf skins, which come exclusively from Europe. Focus is given on the production of leather for bags (70%) and leather uppers for shoes (30%), which are processed into high quality products and luxury goods. Its customers include leading fashion houses in France, Italy and the USA.


Responsibility towards the environment in all activities is a key premise for Richard Hoffmans. The company has its own wastewater treatment plant at the cutting edge of environmental technology. In 2013, they upgraded the generation of hot water in production from oil to gas burners in order to increase energy efficiency through heat recovery.


In addition, Richard Hoffmans has been gold-rated" by the Leather Working Group and received the ECO2L certificate for energy-efficient and resource-saving production of its leather.
